Wacky Wednesday

So in an effort to blog more I have cool titles like today is Wacky Wednesday. Because lets face it Wednesdays can just be nuts. Here in the middle of the week the night mare that was Monday is only a memory And the glimmer of hope that Friday will be is just to far away. Now, of course, there's no guarantee that I'll actually blog more, but hey I'll try, you never know do you!?!?!

Anyway the other thing that made today wacky is the song I woke up hearing this morning. No it wasn't a Steam Powered Giraffe song ... well I guess I should clarify when I woke up at 2a.m. this morning the song running through my head versus the song that woke me up at 630 which was Brass Goggles by Steam Powered Giraffe.

Vacation too short?!?!

Today I went back to work for the first time in 10 days.  And I’m hear to tell you it was really hard going back.  I enjoyed hanging out at home, though I didn’t necessarily enjoy the cleaning.

But I was back, though I’m not sure I was all that productive. 

Anyway, not an exciting post to say the least but the battery is about to die and I want to go to bed.

Twas the Night before Easter

And I'm about as relaxed as I can be!  For the first time in something like 16 years I'm not doing music on Easter Sunday.  And for the first time in 10 I'm not stressing about being in charge of it.  It's a little weird, but I'm OK with it.  It's actually a little freeing! (OK maybe more than a little.)

Of course, I am running the slides so hopefully that will go smoothly.  If not, people will just turn around and stare.  I'll point at Jeff... he won't mind!

This week Mark is on spring break but for the first time in a long time we're not going to San Diego.  We will probably go to Universal Studies, but most of the time will be spent conquering the mess in my house.  Eight years of neglect while I was in school. Plus with Tim moving home in a month he has to have a place to sleep. 

OK, time to be just a little goofy.  Last night after our Tenebrae service we met up at Del Taco for dinner and to kill some time before picking up Tim.  Erwin got to playing with his photofunia program on phone.  I found that there's also a web page (http://www.photofunia.com/) so I had some fun... I think this is actually kind of fun...I'll probably switch my profile pictures to this pretty soon...

Another Friday and All is Well

Not sure why I don't get around to blogging but once a week. It may have to do with the fact I've been blogging faithfully on the mybible360 project.  There's only about 10 or so hits per day but there 3 or 4 that have been very faithful to comment and they've had some really good thoughts.  So it's been encouraging. We're on Matthew 10, when we hit Mark in a couple of weeks I'll post on Facebook to encourage people to join the fun. 

Work next week is going to be great! I'm taking Monday off to be with Mark hopefully we're going to Universal Studies. Then I'm taking Wednesday off for a mental health day. My Disneyland pass expires on the 22nd and I'm not renewing my pass. After the 22nd it will be the first time since May 1989.  There's a part of me that's sad about it but I just can't see spending the money. It's just not a fun any more. Finally, to top off my week, Friday is our APU observance for President's Day.

In my new office area we have 5 individual restrooms, 3 women, 2 men. Which is really funny since IMT and CeLT (Center for Elearning and something) are predominantly men. So finally we made one of the women's room a "uni-sex" bathroom.  Some of the guys had no problem using a vacant women's room, while others "Were raised that you don't do that."  All I care is the men put the seat down!

This week when I was in one of our restrooms, and there was a bottle of air freshener. Check it out:

Non-Cationic??? Really?  Air fresheners can make you cationic?  And it's got amazing Nok-out!
No idea where the cleaning people got this but it made me laugh. Especially in light of this blog post by my dear friend Chris Copeland. 

It was a good week! Tomorrow I am going over to try "shooting" (pictures) of the APU Track Meet. And hopefully at least get to say "Hello" to a good friend that I've not seen in a few months.

Merry Christmas

I lay here thinking “OH my aching stomach!!” Lots of good food the past two days… so tomorrow I’ll be heading over to the gym for some exercise!  Maybe some hiking as well.  I’d love to take the new camera and lens to Monrovia Falls or some other fun place just to get out and around.  We’ll see.

It was good to see family today, and have some relaxing time.  I’m trying to meet my goal of 50 books read in 2011 which is fun.  I have 47 done and 6 days left in the year.  I will come close, since I’m almost done with 48.  It’s kind of fun to read a couple different books at the same time.

The first half of the week will be here at home trying to clean up and catch up on the neglect my house has experienced while I was working on the Master’s degree. Thursday Mark and I will head down to San Diego to go to SeaWorld and Legoland.  It will hopefully be fun time. 

Sorry my life isn’t more exciting. I’m starting to think about my goals for 2012.  I need to go back and see how I did with my goals for 2011.  I know my biggest goal was to read the Old Testament in chronological order, which I did, and really enjoyed. It really helped my understanding the prophets in relationship to Kings and Chronicles. Even the relationship between Kings and Chronicles makes better sense.

OK. So I heard of this website called flavors.me It allows you to tie websites, social networking into one place.  Kind of cool and like a dork I signed up for the pro!  I don’t know why!?!?  It just seemed like a good idea at the time.  Now… I’m asking myself WHY!?!?!?  Thankfully, it wasn’t too expensive, but still.  I’m such a dork sometimes.
